38,00 € tax incl.

Due to numerous archeological discoveries, mainly in Pompeii, Herculaneum and Tivoli, in the second part of the 18th century Rome became the center of neoclassicism which drew inspiration from ‘classical’ art of antiquity. Painters and sculptors made their way to Rome in search of perfection and inspiration. The present catalogue of the exhibition devoted to this wonderful period in the history of arts can be justly called a monographic research. The author of the essay and the exhibition curator is Sergei Androsov, Head of the Department of Western European Fine Art of the State Hermitage, an outstanding art historian.
