Architect Konstantin Melnikov. Pavilions, Garages, Clubs and House of the Soviet Era

72,00 € tax incl.

The publication marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of the great Konstantin Melnikov (1890-1947). This legendary figure of the 20th century managed to lay the foundations of 21 st-century architecture at a most difficult time for the country. A large part of Melnikov’s creative legacy is preserved at the A.V. Shchusev State Museum of Architecture: architectural drawings, photographs of realized projects and graphic design sheets, working sketches, blueprints, models and manuscripts. The book presents the «view from within» of this well-studied collection, which  not long ago was augmented by an unprecedented «exhibit» - the Melnikov House, constructed by the architect in the late 1920s as a residence for himself and his family on Krivoarbatsky Lane in Moscow.
